5th Annual CFC Jail or Bail! – Thursday, December 5

From 10am – 2pm in the lobby of Bldg. 31A, NIH employees will have a chance to lock up friends, colleagues, bosses – all in the spirit of charity! As part of the NIH’s overall drive to raise funds for CFC charities, ORS and ORF will be sponsoring a mock jail, allowing employees to lock up fellow NIHers for a good cause. For up to 60 minutes, at a $1 per minute contribution, employees will be issued a warrant, booked, and locked up in a makeshift jail. The "arrestees" will also be able to pay a similar matching $1 per minute bail (contribution) to reduce their sentence or eliminate their lockup time altogether. Interested in locking up an employee? — appear at the booking station in the Bldg. 31A Lobby, between 10am – 2pm and provide the building and room number of the co-worker. Staff will be on hand to help locate the employee and kindly request his/her appearance at the jail within the specified hours. Please note, if you plan to lock up a colleague, please give the employee advance notice to minimize the disruption to his/her workday and alert you to any critical periods where the employee may not be available. There will be sheriffs, deputies, bail bonds processors, wardens, prisoners, and many others there to help “book ‘em” for CFC. For more information, contact Amy Powers at 301-496-6166.
